Jennifer Lopez accused of copying Beyoncé at American Music Awards

The singer performed a sexy duet Sunday night with male artist Maluma at the awards ceremony and social media immediately began to highlight the similarities with Beyoncé’s 2014 Grammys performance with her husband, rapper Jay-Z.

Lopez wore a black bodysuit with cutouts for “Pa ‘Ti” and “Lonely,” much like Beyoncé when she sang “Drunk In Love” at the Grammys.

Both women also rocked short, wet hairstyles and became sensual with their dance which included colorful lighting.

Bey also did the routine on her concert tour.

Twitter was everywhere, with everything from those saying Lopez copied Beyoncé to some suggesting that it might have been a bit of a tribute to Queen Bey.

CNN contacted representatives of both women to get their comments.
A few who defended Lopez’s performance pointed out that Beyoncé had been called upon several times over the years for producing art that resembled the work of others, most recently last year with some of the music videos from her album “The Lion King: The Cadeau.
